Alongside our existing overseas links, we plan to develop a partnership with a congregation in North India
Children's work
We want to consolidate the children's work in the local Primary Schools and the Children's Worship Event. Plan to appoint a Children's Worker to replace Frances Henderson when she leaves in December, but for 12 hours rather than 20 hours. (See below in 20's to 40's)
Youth work
We're planning to develop our youth work further. A regular Sunday evening service for teenagers is now running, our youth organisation links are strong and schools work is being developed, with an anti-bullying week planned in Lasswade High School, led by the church.
20's to 40's
In the 2002 church census we had no one aged 18 - 30 at church. Things have changed a little - but we are still weak in this age group. We plan to appoint a part-time staff member (8 hours/week, from the money for the Children's & Family Worker) to help us develop work with this age group.
Link with Newton
We have agreed to partner with the church at Newton over the next three years, helping them to develop the life and ministry of the church in Danderhall. A Parish Assistant will be appointed to help with this, and a Locum will lead Sunday worship at Newton.
