Something for families to do
With no Junior Church meetings we will try and put together material for you to use as a family each Sunday. The reflection for this Sunday is based on Psalm 46 picking up the theme from the reflection on the video reflection “God is with us.”
Reading Read Psalm 46 v’s 1 – 3 together
Craft 1 Draw round your hands and your children’s and paste or staple them onto a picture of the world – see below. Instead of using the words in the picture put “God is always with us.”
You can find a picture of the world to colour in here
Here’s a video with the words of Psalm 46 you can play in the background
Craft 2 The sun is shining so if you’d like to get outside, collect 5 stones and then paint (or use Sharpies) one word on each stone to give you “God is always with us.”
An Activity for this Evening at 7pm
A prayer to offer as you light your candle (take turns with each family member praying a line or a paragraph each)
For all that is good in life, thank you,
For the love of family and friends, thank you,
For the kindness of good neighbour and Samaritan stranger, thank you.
May those who are vulnerable, hungry or homeless, experience support,
May those who are sick, know healing,
May those who are anxious or bereaved, sense comfort.
Bless and guide political leaders and decision-makers, with wisdom,
Bless and guide health workers and key workers, with strength and well-being,
Bless and guide each one of us, as we adapt to a new way of living.
And may the light shining from our windows,
across road and wynd, glen and ben, kyle and isle,
be reflected in our hearts and hands and hopes.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
