In support of Poppy Scotland’s Annual Appeal Loanhead Parish Church will again be hosting a Garden of Remembrance in the church garden from Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th November.

2021 is the centenary of the Poppy Appeal and to mark the occasion a display of poppies outside the church is being planned. The church will also take part in the “Light Up Red” campaign, in support of the appeal.

The display of poppies will be in place and the church floodlit in red for the week running up to Remembrance Sunday.

Attention all knitters and crocheters – we need your help to knit or crochet lots and lots and lots of poppies to include in the display.

So pick up those knitting needles and crochet hooks, pass the word on and encourage as many folk as possible to get knitting and crocheting. Copies of the patterns and supplies of wool can be picked up from Loanhead library and completed poppies dropped off there.

Alternatively you can download the patterns here knitting pattern

or email community@loanheadparishchurch.co.uk requesting wool and/or a copy of the patterns and we will get these to you.
