Gregor Murray MA(Oxon) MBA DL, Secretary and Chamberlain, The Royal Company of Merchants of the City of Edinburgh, will lay a wreath at the Loanhead War Memorial at 11am, as the Queen’s representative. Christian Garden will then lay a wreath on behalf of our Community. Other Community Organisations have been invited to appoint an individual to lay a wreath on behalf of their Organisation later in the day, between 11.15am and 1pm
We request that you do not come to the war memorial but stand on your doorstep to keep the 2 minute silence at 11am on Sunday 8th November. This way we can all participate safely.
Remembrance Sunday Church Service
We are holding a Remembrance Sunday Service which starts at 10.30am and will be live-streamed on YouTube for those who would like to join us from home. From 10.50am the focus of the service will be specifically on Remembrance Sunday and the 2 minute silence will be kept at 11 a.m.
We will also have our weekly Zoom Gathering at 11.30am to which all are welcome. This consists of a short reflection, some time to chat with each other and ends with a prayer.
